Quick Capture – Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Quick Capture is a personal-use Windows program. It is used only by its owner and is not offered to the public. This policy explains what data the program handles.
Data stored on your computer
Items you capture (text, dates, and any attached window titles, copied text, or images) are saved only in a file on your own computer, in your Windows user profile. The program does not send this data to any server operated by the developer, because there is no such server.
Google account access (optional)
If you choose to connect a Google account, the program requests permission to:
- Create and delete events in your Google Calendar (
calendar.events). - Create and delete tasks in Google Tasks (
tasks). - Create and delete draft emails in Gmail (
gmail.compose), only if you turn this on.
The program uses these permissions only to create (and, if you delete or undo an item, remove) the items you file yourself. It does not read your existing email, calendar entries, or tasks, does not send email, and does not share Google data with anyone.
The sign-in key Google provides is stored encrypted on your own computer using Windows protection. It never leaves your computer except to talk directly to Google’s servers.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Quick Capture’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Sharing and selling
No data is sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties. There are no ads and no analytics.
Revoking access and deleting data
You can disconnect Google at any time using the Disconnect button in the program, or by removing Quick Capture at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete the saved items, quit the program and delete the folder %APPDATA%\quick-capture.
